Crochet Bralette Free Pattern
I would like to introduce you to the Velocity Bralette. This top is now one of my new favorite crochet bralette designs. I love the way these cups fit most of all. I originally designed this top below and although I really loved the fit of this top, I ended up editing the design to achieve a more sleek look. I was just telling a friend that I noticed I usually over design and then I end up editing and removing a lot of elements. I think that’s just my design process. But this is what the original design looked like. I do like this design as well. I was practicing how to do some of those vintage borders which was a lot of fun. I think my original crochet bralette design is more boho.

But now that it’s toned down a little bit, I like the sleek chic look to it. This crochet bralette is good for an intermediate beginner and above. The stitch pattern used is the moss stitch. I’m such a huge fan of the moss stitch pattern because it is so clean and fast. It is a single crochet stitch pattern where you chain one and skip one between each single crochet. The next row alternates the single crochet to be in the chain spaces of the row below and the chain one spaces will be above the single crochets of the previous row. So the pattern is a staggered single crochet look. Once you get the moss stitch it’s very easy to see, but it does take some time to get used to seeing the chain one spaces vs the single crochet spaces (at least it took me a while because single crochets are sometimes hard for me to count). I also like the that this stitch pattern is fairly solid considering you are skipping a stitch. It actually has a very rich look to it even though it’s not as many stitches as it look like it is.

I used a medium weight 4 yarn for this crochet bralette. I would recommend a softer yarn that’s not a thick worsted weight like, Lily Sugar N’ Cream. It might be too think for this pattern. I used one of my personal favorites from Hobby Lobby, Yarn Bee Soft Secret in the color Tobacco and my second one was in the color Mushroom. The sizes for this crochet bralette are XS-1X and cup sizes A-DD. After I finished this design, I made a matching skirt pattern in sizes XS-1X as well. And then I had a mini photo shoot in my backyard. Here’s a quick gallery before we get into the pattern and video tutorial.
