Crochet Loofa Pouf Free Pattern and Video Tutorial

I had so much fun crocheting these luxury loofa poufs. They make really nice gifts and are reusable and washable. It is always nice when you can crochet a sustainable item that saves money and waste. Plastic loofas can contain fungal organisms after a while and so they need to be replaced for hygienic reasons. The recommended amount of time to keep a plastic loofa is about 1-2 months depending on if you clean it or how often it is used. You can keep your crochet loofa as long as you like but it is still recommended to wash and dry this loofa to keep it clean from fungal organisms.
I made two versions of this crochet loofa. The white one was the prototype. I made a really extravagant strap for this first one. It was a beautiful floral crochet ribbon that I learned form Natali Korneeva and you can find her video tutorial here in case you are interested in this lovely strap. Her video is in another language so you will have to watch her instead of listen (unless you know her language). The second crochet loofa was the two toned blue loofa that is shown in the tutorial. I changed colors after row 5 and I made a basic strap of one row of single crochets.
You will need about 550 yards of crochet #10 thread to make the larger loofa. I used an I Hook / 5.5 mm Hook and any hook between a 1.5-2.5 mm Hook will work for the basic strap. I recommend a 1.10 -1.5 mm hook if you intend to try the floral strap by Natali Korneeva because that stitching looks better with a smaller hook.
