Crochet Ruffly Bikini Set | Crochet Easy Ruffle Cheeky Bikini Bottom (Sizes XS-3X)

What is more fun than a crochet bikini? Well, a crochet bikini with ruffles! I wanted a matching bikini bottom to go with my Ruffle Bandeau Bikini Top. I know, as the summer is ending… I’m still crocheting bikinis but hey it swimwear is my favorite to crochet.

The crochet work is pretty simple and beginner friendly. I began by crocheting a basic bikini bottom using an F hook and half double crochets. The sizing is explained in the video.

From there, I went ahead and crocheted the strings/ties for the sides of the bikini bottom. I usually use chain stitches only or sometimes, I slip stitch back along the chain to make the string thicker. Here, I just wanted the more delicate string so I only used chain stitches.

The next step for me was to create the ruffles. I used the same ruffle pattern as the Ruffle Bandeau Bikini Top. The ruffles are created with only two rows of increasing double treble crochets. Now, crochet ruffles can take a long time. That’s why I chose to use double treble crochets so that the crochet stitches could be taller and I would need fewer rows but still achieve that full crochet ruffle look. I added crochet ruffles along the base of the bikini but also into the strings/ties. I only went about 10 chain spaces into the strings so that the ruffles didn’t interfere with me tying my bikini on the sides.

The fit is cheeky and but not quite Brazilian. Shown here is a size medium/large. But you can follow along with the video to crochet this in your size. Happy Crocheting!
