Nelsonwood – Ergonomic Wooden Crochet Hooks (My First Custom Ergonomic Hook)

There comes a time when you crochet enough to the point where your hands start getting tired. One way to take away the strain on your hands is to stretch frequently, take breaks and even change the way you are holding your hook from time to time.
Another way is to look into the ergonomic hooks. There are many options. But I decided to invest in a custom made hook and I found a crochet hook designer that made the most beautiful hooks I had ever seen!
Bryan Nelson, owner of Nelsonwood really impressed me with his stylish designs and custom wood worked crochet hooks. He offers many different materials to choose from so that you can create a unique hook to fit your aesthetics. He is constantly coming up with new materials to choose from and offers some other helpful crochet items like custom bowls. Here is some of his work from his Instagram.

Bryan had great reviews and the “hooker candy” was so pretty so I decided to give him a try. I purchased a G/4.5mm hook in blue holly and peacock.

My hook was absolutely stunning! But my main question was if this kind of crochet hook would help me with my hands getting tired over long periods of time. I did my first few projects using this hook and let me tell you…I want to get more sizes! The shape really helps with not having to grip my hook so tightly and thus my hand doesn’t get strained because it is more relaxed in holding the hook! If you know that you will crochet for years to come, these hooks are so worth the investment for the beauty and comfort will last you years!
